HVR take First Place at Waiakea VEX Regional

Hilo Viking Robotics took first place at the Waiakea VEX regional last Saturday.   All three of our teams fought hard against teams from all over the Big Island and against stiff competition from several Oahu teams.  After a long day of qualification matches we had three teams ranked third, fourth, and eleventh.  Our team 1378 paired up with Waiakea and McKinley High Schools to eventually win the tournament while team 1378 X paired up with Kohala and Mililani, making it to semi-finals.  In addition to making it to quarter finals, team 1378 B impressed the judges and won the amaze award.  In addition to the Waiakea tournament, HVR is also participating in the Big Island VEX league tournament which consists of four sets qualification matches that lead up to finals.  Our next VEX League tournament is on November ninth at Kealakehe High School in Kona, so feel free to stop by.
