Onizuka Day

Founded in the name of  Hilo born astronaut Ellison Onizuka, Onizuka Day is an annual event that brings the science community together to share their knowledge to the community.  Children and parents are encouraged to visit this event and learn about astronomy, engineering, and many other sciences through booths and demonstrations.   This year, our club joined the scientific community at Onizuka Day, spreading knowledge and excitement by teaching children about robotics while letting them drive our VEX robots.  HVR club members also helped pass out lunches and beverages to other Onizuka Day volunteers   If you enjoyed Onizuka Day and know of children interested in learning more about robotics, check out our Camp Eureka.
